I received a cold call from a realtor, Kent Miller.... My first impulse was to hang up but there was something in the sales pitch that caught my attention. I agreed to meet with him the following evening to discuss a new listing. More I thought, to confirm, I made the right decision to not go forward with selling my home of 40 years at this time.

The following evening, when I went to answer the door, I was immediately interested in what this young fresh polished gentleman had to offer. He arrived looking very professional. He was carrying himself in a very confident self-assured manner that put me at ease immediately. Kent listened to my concerns and past experience and explained step by step how my experience with Laffey would be different if I chose him as my representative. Kent was prepared with comps from the area that were representative of what I could expect. He showed how having “professional” looking photos make a big difference in a marketplace that heavily screens their selections for personal visits based on their internet experience. By the end of that first evening, I was sold on Kent Miller.  I wanted to put some distance between my internal decision and signing on the dotted line but make no mistake my decision was made after that first meeting.

Kent told me from the onset that in todays market and my location, the house may take up to 6 months to sell; but I should not be concerned by this and remain patient with the process. I felt I could trust his input and was never let down.

When it was time to take the photos for the website, I thought Kent was a professional photographer. He took time to stage each room and take into consideration the angle of the photos and the time of day which would show the room best.

He planned open houses by appointment because of my location to high traffic areas; I had a concern that I would receive many visitors just interested in killing some time while a loved one shopped or while waiting for a bus. Based on the web presence of my the home the open houses were successful. Volume picked up on visits to the house. This went a long way to ease my mind that Kent would find the right buyer.

When the offers started to come in, he helped guide me to make the selection that was in my best interest. This included more than just the price as a consideration.

In my opinion it is due to Kent ‘s knowledge of the industry, professional business manner and his strong people skills that turned around a very negative selling experience into one that left me feeling calm confident and in control. I have recommended him to associates and it is my understanding that they are going to engage him on the sale of their home. The only thing that would have made my experience better is if I had contracted with Kent Miller from the beginning. He is an asset to the industry.
